1959:
OUR JOURNEY
BEGINS
In 1959, The Nepal Distilleries Pvt. Ltd was born. Soon after, the first ever batch of Khukri Rum would leave our distillery.
1974:
LAUNCH OF THE
CORONATION RUM
Launched in 1974 to celebrate the coronation ceremony of His Majesty, Late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev our iconic Coronation Rum is a true ode to Nepal's rich cultural legacy.
1983:
FIRST VICTORY OVERSEAS
Medalla De Oro A La Calidad International Bebidas Alcohólicas 1983 Madrid – Gold Award Winner
1996:
CROSSING THE
OCEAN!
Our exports to the UK in 96' and Germany just two years later, marked a new chapter in our commitment to bring handcrafted Nepalese Rum to our consumers worldwide.
2008:
A SPICEY DEBUT
In 2008, we added a new member to our family. Our original Himalayan Rum, now infused with authentic Nepalese spices. What's not to like?
2018:
FACILITY UPGRADE
Together with Restoring the over 50 years old barrels and vats, we enhanced the Rum maturation capacity to meet the growing demand.

The production unit was modernised to bring in efficiency and safety with state of art equipments and process. The overall complex was redesigned for better working space and facilities for the workforce.
2020:
TOP STEP IN
LONDON
Khukri Rum was awarded Gold at the prestigious London Spirits Competition 2020.
2021:

A symbol of Nepalese pride, the new pack has straight, proud sides, that meet with strong shoulders and a bespoke flared cap, echoing the handle of the iconic khukri knife.
